Beginning Educator Support Team (BEST)

The Moses Lake School District believes that focused, on-the-job intentional support during the first few years is beneficial to both new teachers and their students. Our BEST 3 Year support includes:

  • New Teacher Orientation - All new hires receive multiple days of immersion in our MLSD culture and curriculum. We offer flexible scheduling with time to work with an experienced teacher and curriculum specialists to ensure a successful classroom start-up.
  • Instructional Mentoring - All first and second-year teachers are assigned an OSPI trained Instructional Mentor. Personal and confidential, your mentor will meet with you regularly to provide feedback and help you reach the instructional goals you set.
  • TPEP Classes and 1:1 Assistance - Assistance making sense of the Teacher Evaluation Process. A free copy of Danielson’s Framework For Teaching. Personal visits during the year to help with evidence and technology requirements.
  • Certification Support - We provide support in helping you navigate your way through the Certification Renewal process. Also, National Board cohorts are available after your third year. We have over 80 NBCTs in MLSD!
  • Contact Anna Griffith (509) 766-2650 x7766 for additional information.
