About the Facility Advisory Committee

Our District is re-engaging in the critical work of planning for its capital infrastructure needs. The Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) will play a crucial role in identifying what those infrastructure needs are and the strategies employed to see them to fruition.

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The purpose of the Facilities Advisory Committee is to serve as a collaborative and strategic advisory body, bringing together dedicated staff, community members, and other key stakeholders committed to ensuring the Moses Lake School District is optimally equipped to meet the evolving educational needs of our students both now and into the future.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Strategic Planning for the Future: Develop long-term strategic plans that align with the district's educational goals, and adhere to principles of fiscal sustainability and operational efficiency while optimizing the learning experience and opportunities of all students.
  2. Financial Sustainability: Collaborate on the development of stable, transparent and strategic financial plans, including bond and tax strategies, to support the funding of capital improvements and infrastructure investments while being mindful of the economic health and aspirations of the community.
  3. Community Engagement: Foster open and transparent engagement with the broader community, student families, and other stakeholders, to ensure that the recommendations of the committee are informed by the unique cultural, industrial and demographic qualities of the Moses Lake community.
  4. Advocacy for Student Success: Advocate for facilities that prioritize the well-being and success of all students, creating environments that inspire learning, innovation, creativity, inclusiveness and personal growth.
  5. Data-Driven Decision Making: Base our recommendations on comprehensive data, research, and best practices, ensuring that our proposals are well-informed and supported by evidence.
