Moses Lake High School Hosts College and Career Fair to Empower Students’ Futures

More than 100 representatives from colleges, career programs, local industries, and the military gathered at Moses Lake High School on Wednesday, April 30, for a day dedicated to helping students explore post-high school pathways.
Held in the Maverick Gym, the College and Career Fair gave students the chance to connect directly with professionals and gather information about educational and career opportunities. Students rotated through the fair during their English classes, making the event accessible to all grade levels as they work toward completing their state-mandated High School and Beyond Plans.
“Feedback from the students, representatives, and staff was extremely positive, the best year yet,” said Enrique Tolivar, MLHS Counselor. “Students made connections and enjoyed the variety available, representatives shared how well students behaved and were prepared with questions, and the MLHS staff mentioned students were hesitant before arriving but left with big smiles.”
Representatives included a broad range of organizations:
Local industry partners like Boys & Girls Club of the Columbia Basin, City of Moses Lake, East Columbia Basin Irrigation, Feller Orthodontics, Genie Industries, Grant County Public Utility District, Group 14 Technologies, The McGregor Company, Moses Lake Industries, National Frozen Foods Corporation, Samaritan Healthcare, and SkillSource.
Colleges and universities including Big Bend Community College, Central Washington University, Columbia Basin College, Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University, Grand Canyon University, Pacific Lutheran University, University of Idaho, Washington State University (Pullman and Tri-Cities), Western Washington University, and Whitworth University.
Trade schools and military branches also participated, with representatives from Columbia Basin Job Corps, Northwest Laborers Training, Perry Technical College, Universal Technical College, the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and the ASVAB Testing and Career Exploration Program.
