MOSES LAKE, WA — Moses Lake School District today announced school schedules for the 2026-27 school year, including an increase in elementary instructional time that had been reduced as part of the district’s financial recovery efforts during the two-year loss of levy funds.

When the district adjusted elementary schedules during the 2024-25 school year, district leadership communicated that recovery would take time and that restoring student opportunities would occur as the district regained financial stability. Since that time, Moses Lake School District has worked to strengthen its financial position while maintaining a focus on student learning and classroom experiences.
The Educational Programs and Operations Levy approved by voters in February 2025 provided critical local funding that supports student programs, services, and learning opportunities while helping position the district to move forward with planned restoration efforts.
“Increasing elementary instruction time has always been an important goal of our recovery efforts. From the beginning, we communicated that financial recovery would be a multi-year process and would be based on progress the district made towards financial stability,” said Superintendent Carol Lewis. “I’m very pleased that we are able to increase instructional time for our elementary students while maintaining our commitment to financial responsibility. Reaching this milestone reflects the progress our district has made over the past two years and our continued commitment to investing in student learning.”
The finalized 2026-27 school schedules represent another important step in the district’s ongoing efforts to balance its investment in student achievement with responsible stewardship of public resources.
Families will receive additional back-to-school information, including transportation details and school-specific schedules, later this summer.
