MLSD Strengthens Transportation Leadership Team

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Moses Lake School District has announced the appointment of two new directors to lead the district’s transportation department, strengthening its commitment to safe, efficient, and student-focused services.
Dyan Ford, who has served as the district’s interim transportation director the past couple of months, has been named Director of Transportation, Personnel. A lifelong Moses Lake resident, Ford began her career with the department of transportation at Moses Lake School District as a bus driver for more than 16 years. Prior to serving as the interim director, she served as the department’s assistant director of transportation. With extensive experience and a strong rapport with transportation staff, Ford will continue to lead driver training, personnel support, and staff coordination.
“I am honored and privileged to have been offered the position of Moses Lake School District department of transportation director,” said Ford. “I look forward to serving the community to the best of my ability and always keeping the students and their safety in the forefront of my mind.”
Amiee Cook joins MLSD as Director of Transportation, Operations, bringing years of leadership from Prosser School District. The Southern California native began working in school transportation following college. Cook brings a background that includes routing logistics, fleet management, and operations planning. She will oversee routing systems and daily operations within the department.
“I am very excited to get started serving the community of Moses Lake,” said Cook. “I have a passion for school bus safety: from teaching drivers, students and any community member that is interested in the whys of why we do what we do. Most importantly, keeping all of our passengers safe while getting them to their destinations.”
Superintendent Carol Lewis praised the new leadership team, saying, “Both Dyan and Amiee bring unique strengths that complement one another. Their partnership will help advance the efficiency and quality of our transportation services while supporting a strong culture of teamwork and service.”
