J.R. Simplot Company Makes Donation to Moses Lake Athletics and Activities

Moses Lake, Washington – The J.R. Simplot Company has donated $50,000 to assist the Community Athletics & Activities Organization during their 2024/2025 school year. The donation will help ensure that more than 8,000 students served by the Moses Lake School District will have access to sports and other extra-curricular activities for the coming school year.
The Moses Lake fry plant has been a part of the Moses Lake community for 60 years and Simplot is dedicated to our employees, their families and the residents of Moses Lake and the surrounding community.
“Through donations like this, and our golf tournament in September which raises scholarship funds for local students, we hope to encourage local youth to stay in school and find their passion,” said Efrain Valdez, Plant Director of Simplot’s Moses Lake facility. “When businesses and community members like the Community Athletics & Activities Organization work together, no problem is too big to be overcome. We hope this donation is the first of many to support the young people of Moses Lake.”
Simplot’s Moses Lake french fry plant is one of 10 potato processing facilities the Idaho-based Company operates around the world. The Company recently broke ground on another Moses Lake facility that will bring more jobs and financial benefit to the area.
