COVID GUIDELINES

Updated Guidelines:

If you have respiratory virus symptoms that are not better explained by another cause (such as allergies), or if you test positive for COVID-19 or another respiratory virus, please follow the CDC guidance for staying home and avoiding contact with others, including people you live with who are not sick.

You may return to your normal activities when both of the following have been true for at least 24 hours:

  1. Your symptoms are improving overall.
  2. You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).

You can determine that your symptoms are improving when you start to feel better and are well enough to fully participate in your daily activities, such as working or engaging in routine tasks. It’s important to note that a respiratory virus infection can have many types of symptoms, some of which may last beyond the period when you are contagious (able to spread the virus), such as a lingering cough. The key indicator is an overall sense of feeling better and being able to resume activities.

Precautions After Returning to Normal Activities:

When you return to your normal activities, it is essential to continue taking precautions over the next 5 days. This includes:

  • Wearing a mask when around others.
  • Taking steps to improve air flow and filtration.
  • Practicing good hand hygiene.
  • Regularly cleaning shared surfaces.
  • Maintaining physical distancing.
  • Testing when you will be around other people indoors.

Please be aware that you may still be contagious with a respiratory virus even after resuming your regular activities. Therefore, it is important to continue taking these additional precautions to prevent the spread of the virus to others.

We appreciate your cooperation in following these updated guidelines to help keep our workplace safe and healthy. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out to Human Resources.
